Upcoming release, April 17th – Pre-save now!
Upcoming: Brand New Day – Release date February 28th, 2020
Yoga, Relax, Meditative, Chill, Positive – Piano, Acoustic
This piano piece gets you relaxed and positive, the stress will pour a away as in a summer rain shower – leaving you focused and relaxed, but not consuming any energi to listen in. It works really well during stressful work or just to wind down for a moment. I had help from a reference group to get feedback and they are looking forward to this release, using this for Yoga and work! Even the cats fall asleep and “pours” out of the chair down onto the floor when they listen to this (true story!)
This is one of the tracks from the upcoming EP Breathing Underwater, release date March 20th, 2020. If you want to pre-save this EP right now, you can do it here: https://sonderhouse.ffm.to/breathingunderwater
Inspired of the work of Ólafur Arnalds and Nils Frahm, a few months back I got the idea- and suggested to my friend Johan aka Sleepy Songs, that since we connect deeply with the piano music, we could try to do some cooperative work.
I suggested the names Rowan and Elder as the name of the project, and soon enough the first single Rowan was finished. A little more than a week back we got it released with some help from The Sonder House, and it’s hitting the playlists by now and is gaining some attention.
This is Rowan – you will find in on your favourite streaming service. Just look for Rikard Mathisson or Sleepy Songs. Here are links to Spotify and Youtube.
Single: Rowan – Planned release date: July 5th, 2019
“Rowan and Elder” is a collaboration of Sleepy Songs (Johan Eckman) and Rikard Mathisson, with two pianos and four hands. Both pianists have over 50,000 combined streams each month. Releases together with the New York brand The Sonder House.
The single “Rowan” is part of a planned series of piano tracks in a collaboration inspired by Nils Frahm and Olafur Arnald’s work.

Releasing my first track today from my current theme “Insomnia” – “Will you join me in the night”. 🎹
Follow me into the land of dreams, to the world beyond the unkown, with this dreamy piano piece…
Upcoming release date: Thursday, May 30th, 2019.
By now, we’ve all finally had to accept the inevitable – all is coming to an end 😊 The saga of Game of Throne is finally over and forthcoming Monday nights meets an unknown destiny…
“The night” expresses many things, both in life and beyond…
However, in a few weeks, my next piano track “Will You Join Me in the Night”, completely unrelated to GoT of course but stil raises the question. Will you join me in the night – in this song? Blue eyes or not 😎
This song is a place to feel restful and in peace. The night expresses many things for us, both in life and beyond; although this song in particular captures the melancholics of suffering from insomnia, but it also relates to the question why we dream – will we meet in our dreams? And after this life, will we meet on the other side? It raises the question what is the night for you?
This song is also part of my upcoming EP “Insomnia”.

Due to the recent events in Musikchansen and my prior work on Erika’s Song with Aleco and Mathisson, it has given a lot of confirmation to my ongoing concepts. That is important to have;
The music that comes forth may or may not be perfect, but stay true to my core!
Enjoy the songs from Musikchansen and there will be much more of the piano music from now. I’ve said “new music every month”, but that may change due to focus. I hope I will have the time to promote my piano music during the summer since my current piano projects are moving steadily forward now and released piece by piece:
- Rowan and Elder
- Nordic Piano
Here is Musikchansen:
My partner Tommy Karlsson and I was interviewed in the radio on Friday morning since we’re participating in a national wide musical contest called P4Nästa with my song Where I First Belong (the semi final of Blekinge is in Karlshamn on Östersjöfestivalen Friday 19/7) – Note: The interview is in Swedish.
Is it hard to sing a love song to somebody else’s wife?

The voting will start in the end of June so you’ll may hear about it more as we go and before that there I’ll be on air a few times, just as the music now and then.
